A japanesse friend of mine use to wear these, i'm not really into them cause they look kinda clunky, but he seems to like them.

Red Wing Boots
Sandal? Really??
A UI (University of Indonesia) kid was at the company's lobby like five minutes ago, looking to get a set of prospectus and financial materials for his thesis work.
Now i have no problems providing and helping graduate students with their work, hell, i used to be one. But this guy turned up in t-shirt and sandals man! like nasty-dirty-swallow sandals (ask any Indonesian about them, it's not your Havaianas kind).
Damn man, you could at least put some shoes on or somethin', what are you gonna wear for your job interview man? shorts?
I'm not saying its the same as a job interview, but....you get the idea.

5 Bands I Want To See On Guitar Hero
Love Guitar Hero! haven't played Rock Band yet, but i heard it's also good, if not better. I was pleasantly surprised to see "Reptilia" (The Strokes) in the first GH, and playing with the mock guitar is just the most fun thing to do, besides karaoke that is hehehe.
First things first, this is not a super smart list where the songs are picked based on its guitar playing merit. I just want to play these songs/bands on GH and thats it. No artistical way i'm picking these songs.
The other thing is I have to confess that i haven't played all of the GH games, so i'm not sure if my wish list of songs/bands are allready in there or not, but i scanned the songlist on its website and i think its not there.
So i give you my 5 bands that i want to see on Guitar Hero!!
5). peterpan – I’m a bit biased for this one hehehe, I think everyone around me just rolled their eyes. Love them to death, though i think their non music controversies (divorces/bandmembersquitting/lawsuits/etc) are distracting people from how good their music really is. Though their specialty is depressing ballads (hehehe), they can also do uptempo songs with guitar riffs.
The band is facing an uncertain future now that they've fulfilled their contractual obligation to carry the name peterpan, so its gonna be interesting how they go from here. (Please, no more jokes about Captain Hook as the next name)
4). Coldplay – not the most obvious choice for this, but i just want to play "God Put A Smile Upon Your Face". That opening riff just kills! and the bit when the drums kick in...pwhoooooooaaaaar!
3). Green Day – I have to go back to their old material for this one, much as I like American idiot, I fell in love with Dookie and that’s where most of the material I love come from. Song like "
2). The White Stripes - "7 Nation Army", nuff said! hahaha. That song just kick ass, and i can't believe that they are not in GH yet. This is a no brainer...maybe Jack White wants more money? hehehe pay them whatever they want!
1). Oasis – I cheated a bit, cause apparently Oasis is on one of the GH games, though for the song "Some Might Say", which to me is not one of their best but still good. I think they specialize in making stadium songs hehehe check out the songs they made, "Wonderwall," "(Whats The Story) Morning Glory?," "Live Forever," "Supersonic," the list is endless.
The period between Definitely Maybe and Morning Glory was when Oasis ruled the world, they just couldn't do no wrong. Then suddenly the rug got pulled from under their feet. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted.

Celeb Sightings
Havent done this in a while, so i thought it would be fun. Here's Adriana Lima with her BB (not sure if she walks around New York like that hahaha)
JT at a basketball game.
Cassie & Solange (is she giving the paparazzi the finger???)
Selena Gomez using her BB for music, which not many people know has excellent music storage and listening capability. The email and chat feature in the BB is so well known that people forget it can do other stuff as well. I've actually hooked it up to my car, which not many people know you can do as well, pretty soon you dont have to bring your iPod around!
Excellent SNL Skit
I thought Saturday Night Live isn't funny anymore! hahahha, you have to check this skit out, it's the funniest thing i've seen in a while, certainly the funniest thing i've seen come out of SNL i a long while.
They totally skewered Hilary and Sarah Palin.

Real Life Alphonse
I dearly love the manga series Fullmetal Alchemist (see the picture on the bottom right), i think its an amazing piece of work that manages to be funny, dramatic, suspensefull and frickin scary at times. The Butcher character scared the craaaaaap out of me, and i was watching that episode at night too hehehe gives it that added kick.
Anyway, some guy in Japan made a full on Alphonse costume (one of the brothers in the series), sooo funny!

Converse Sneakers
I love Converse sneakers! i think they're timeless and can be done in many different possibilities. I've got 3 pairs and they're consistently the most used sneakers in my collection (the Nike Dunks are pretty close too though). I know some people that wear only Converse, and have like 10 pairs or something.
They go with everything too, you can wear them with jeans or even dress it up with high end stuff. These new design is verrrry coool, where can i get them????
Check out Hypebeast for more!
Tag Heuer Phone
Tag Heuer is entering the luxury mobile phone market with a bang! and it's called the Meridiist.
It definitely a shot at Vertu, the only player in that market share at the moment, but at £2650 its playing in the same ballpark. This is a handsome devil, its got a nice anti scratch screen and 2 MP camera too. Another interesting feature is an OLED time display on the top, very nice touch, reminds you that Tag actually makes watches hehehe.
Would i get it over a Vertu? hmmmm.....

New iPod Touch!
The new iPod touch just keeps getting better and better! i so want this thing and the new Nano. Apple didn't make major changes to the touch, but it is slimmer has many new features that the old one din't have, such as longer battery life and bigger capacity.
Best entertainment device (notice i didn't say MP3 player there?) that money can buy, and i think that is what Apple is positioning it as. They want it to compete with the Nintendo DS and Playstations of the world, which is why theres many games available to play on it now.

Alfa 8C Competitzione
Feraris? bleh. Lamborghinis? yawn. Bored with your usual supercars?
Enter the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione.
This beast has a 450bhp 4.7-litre V8 engine and carbon fiber body, with design and engineering help from Maserati and Ferari (its next of kin, cousins so to speak). I've never been a big fan of Alfa Romeo, the design up until now has been very very bland so to speak, but the 8C kicks major ass! it has the look and performance to rival major auto houses like Aston Martin and even Ferari. That's how good it looks.
Out of the new supercars coming into the market lately, I think the Audi R8 supercar is pretty good looking, my only complaint about it is it always reminds me of the Knightrider car hehehe. Now, hands down, the 8C has won my vote.

Anantara
Our last day in Bali was pretty hectic, had to do some last minute shopping and lots of other stuff before we embark on a night flight back to Jakarta. But we managed to fit in a sunset session at a new place on the rooftop of hotel Anantara, which is in front of the famous Gado-Gado.
Enter the lobby and turn right, once you enter the solitary and secluded elevator click on the 6th floor and you're there.
Wow. This is a pretty cool place hehehe.
For me it's just right, not too big and not too small. It combines the aesthetic of Kudeta with a gorgeous sunset view of Kuta beach (but better cause its 6 floors up), with traditional lounges dripped in white and wood.
We had the apple martini and amaretto sour, which was nice, as well as the cranberry drinks.
But what did it for me was the sunset, check it out!
Cafe Moka
The whole family went to Bali last week for a wedding, and stayed longer to make a long weekend out of it. After a spot of shopping we tried this new restaurant in the Legian area called Cafe Moka, which serves up sandwiches, pastas and quiches. Pretty good food at reasonable prices. I ordered the roast beef sandwich, and what came to me was a gigantic monster! mutant sandwiches!!

Karma Kandara Beach
We heard of a new exclusive beach at the new Karma Kandara resort near GWK, Bali, so we decided to check out what all the fuss was about and see if its any better than Dreamland or Bluepoint beaches.
After a rough and long ride (i think my kidney moved places), we arrived at the Karma Kandara resort and proceeded to the Dil Mare restaurant to check out the beach. The lounge has an excellent seaside view from the top of the cliff, where the resort is built into.
Entry cost: Rp 150,000 per person. Ouch.
So you go down the cliffside using a lift for 5 people and immediately you can see the spot below.
The place has excellent facilities and cabanas, the staff was also very friendly and helpfull. The food and drinks was good, though a bit pricey, but everything was top notch. The high price for entry has definitely scared off casual guests, which can be a good thing since places like Dreamland now is just packed with people, and they litter the beach with empty bottles and cigarette butts.
The downside: the beach was not good at all. Its one of those beaches where its actually full of rock and corrals, not suitable for surfing or swimming at all, definitely man made. But if you're looking to lounge and tan or read a good book peacefully, you can't beat Karma Kandara!
Barack Obama DNC Speech
To hear Barack Obama talk is to hear inspiration personified. The man talks the way they do in the olden days, painting landscapes and emotions with words that strike deep into your heart. His speech at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) was arguably his best by far, i dont know who he hired to write his speech for him, but goddaaaaaaamn they're good! how the hell can i write the way they do.
"We may not agree on abortion, but surely we can agree on reducing the number of unwanted pregnancies in this country. The reality of gun ownership may be different for hunters in rural Ohio than for those plagued by gang-violence in Cleveland, but don't tell me we can't uphold the Second Amendment while keeping AK-47s out of the hands of criminals. This might be the first politician that actually cares about it's people hehehe
I know there are differences on same-sex marriage, but surely we can agree that our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters deserve to visit the person they love in the hospital and to live lives free of discrimination.
Passions fly on immigration, but I don't know anyone who benefits when a mother is separated from her infant child or an employer undercuts American wages by hiring illegal workers. This too is part of America's promise - the promise of a democracy where we can find the strength and grace to bridge divides and unite in common effort." - Barack Obama
But you can't belittle Obama's contribution, the best words are just ink on paper if not delivered in the right way, and Obama has oratorial talent in spades. The nearest person i can think off the top of my head in recent times that can deliver in front of people like he does is probably Steve Jobs of Apple. They're both born speakers with the ability to enthrall audiences, though on different levels.
"This country of ours has more wealth than any nation, but that's not what makes us rich. We have the most powerful military on Earth, but that's not what makes us strong. Our universities and our culture are the envy of the world, but that's not what keeps the world coming to our shores.
Instead, it is that American spirit - that American promise - that pushes us forward even when the path is uncertain; that binds us together in spite of our differences; that makes us fix our eye not on what is seen, but what is unseen, that better place around the bend.
That promise is our greatest inheritance. It's a promise I make to my daughters when I tuck them in at night, and a promise that you make to yours - a promise that has led immigrants to cross oceans and pioneers to travel west; a promise that led workers to picket lines, and women to reach for the ballot." - Barack Obama
Joe Bidden - Vice President Of America
I didn't know much about Barack Obama's choice of Vice Presidential nominee, Senator Joe Bidden, but he looks to compensate for what he lacks most - foreign policy experience. I don't understand why people keep saying that this exposes Obama's weaknesses and therefore makes him a weaker candidate. I think this makes him an even better candidate.
A good leader recognizes his strengths and weakneses, and knows that human beings can't possibly be good in everything. There is no shame in that.
That being said, Joe Bidden can be a funny guy hehehe take a look below.
