Could Steve Jobs Be Going Away?

An interesting article about the possibility that Steve Jobs is preparing the public for his eventual withdrawal from the public eye of the company that he built into a design and cultural powerhouse.

Take a look at that picture and tell me what's wrong?

The answer: Steve Jobs is not the only person on that stage.

"It was Steve's Show from beginning to "one more thing," and there was no doubt about it.

Today it was the confirmation that those days may be over forever. It seems like Steve has decided it's time not to appear like Johnny Cash anymore, but time to become Mick Jagger. And with him, he brought Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, and Ronnie Wood. Today Steve's band played all the tunes in harmony, showing to the world that there's more to Apple than just the frontman, even while his DNA is deep inside every single aspect of the company's culture."

From a PR point of view, i get it, Steve is trying to show the world (i.e investors and shareholders) that Apple is not a one man show, and that the company's future is safe even if he steps back. Just how bad is his health condition??? Apple is so linked to Steve Jobs, that even news of his health can affect its stock price, so i understand exactly why suddenly Steve is sharing the spotlight.

Prius 2009

The new Prius set to bow in 2009, retaines much of the old design with new front end and cool headlights. You know, one of the positives coming out of the recession (there i've said it, is that so hard to admit???) and fluctuating oil price is that the public and auto makers in general are more concerned about fuel consumption (which in turn, is good for global warming).

That has been a long time coming, i don't think anyone can debate the word's addiction to oil and the effects of global warming anymore. The world is becoming THAT hot and it's time that we do something about it, starting with lower fuel consumption for short term gains.

New Nike Cortez

I've always loved the look of the Nike Cortez, and now they've updated it to make it even better.

Check 'em out here for more.

Iron Man Concept Art

Check out Phil Saunder's blog, he's one of the concept designers film makers use to try and visualize their movies. He's worked on the Spiderman and Iron Man movies, and was cool enough to post some concept art on his blog. The first one is a concept art for War Machine.

An underwater Iron Man??? interesting.

That's Maxwell?

Looking sharp dude! i just found out Maxwell cut his signature afro (see below for before and after), and he looks so different without it especially with them glasses. I love this man's music, Urban Hang Suite is in my pick of top ten best album of all time, and his albums after that is no joke either. He was the poster child of the Neo Soul movement, with D'Angelo and Erykah Badu at the time, but that movement is long gone now which is a shame.

Maxwell's got a new album coming out soon, look out for that!

Web of Shadows

Screenshots from the newest Spiderman game called the "Web of Shadows". Look at that Mega Venom! those shots look sweeeeet.

Don't they look better than the real life counterparts???

Hangang

This one is a bit late but i'm gonna post it anyway. We had a get together one time at a Korean joint in Pacific Place called Hangang, never been there before so it was pretty cool to discover a new place and find that the food was good.

We got the usual kimchi stuff and it was fresh, but the real highlight was the meat, glorious meat! try the ribs and gyutan (which is sliced ox tongue, excellent).

DC vs Mortal Kombat

Love the Mortal Kombat game back in the day, the brutal fatalities and secret characters were the coolest thing, they we're also the first to do it back then. Anyway, the commisioned Alex Ross to do a cover for the game box, and it's pretty cool. The guy did some classic work for the Marvels and Kingdom Come graphic novels, so thats a cool touch.

A Mili (The Roots Style)

Probably one of the coolest collaboration i've seen, check out Lil Wayne and The Roots doing "A Mili".

The Steakhouse

We celebrated my dad's bday at The Steakhouse in the Four Seasons Hotel, woo hooo!

The food was gooooood, mainly steaks and other such food but there was a lot of variety to choose from. There was 8 of us, so we decided to order different foods and taste each others pick. My brother ordered the ribs, which was phenomenal.

My pick, the four pepper steak.

First Night

First night out after the Ramadhan month, we went out to Loewy to get a drink and meet up with some friends after being very good for a month long. I dont know if people know this, but in Indonesia during the month of Ramadhan places are obliged to close after 10, otherwise they face the risk of being raided and closed down.

Anyway, after dinner we tried the dessert and was very dissapointed. I think the food at Loewy is not very good cause i can't seem to find anything good everytime i go there.

Lamborghini Estoque

Sorry for the car coverage, i know there's two of 'em in a row but there's some irresistible looking cars, and this is the cherry on top.

Welcome to the Lamborghini Estoque, a 4 seater concept car thats the first of its kind for the Italian automaker. I think they haven't decided yet whether or not to go into production with the car, which reminds of the of the Maserati Quatroporte, very similar size and concept to this car.

The sexiest car i've seen in a long time, still got that Lambo DNA too.

2009 Nissan Maxima

Pics of the new Nissan Maxima (known as Teana in Indonesia) has hit the net, and i think it looks even better than the allready good looking predecessor. I think it has design elements of Lexus and BMW, in the front and back respectively, while besting the original design.

I love this car, i think its one of the most underrated 5 door sedans in the market, which is mostly dominated by the Camrys and Accords (for medium market) and the 5 series and E classes (for premium market).

That dashboard looks good too, i think Nissan designs good interior for what you pay for, and the Maxima is certainly one of their benchmark cars.

iPhone Killer?

Reviews of the new Blackberry Storm touch screen phone has been hitting the net like a...well...storm, and from what i've read many of it has been very very very positive. This rocks a full touch screen (no keypads) that can adjust to horizontal and vertical views, like the iPhone.

From the looks of it, this thing is gonna seriously give the iPhone a run for its money. It apparently has a better touch screen cause you can actually feel the strokes, unlike the iPhone which just feels like you're tapping on glass. The screen lights up too when you press on it.

How cool is that!! pretty cool alarm clock you got there.

And check out the resolution on that screen, compared to my Curve its light years beyond.

Future Tickets

Concept design for future ticketing device, pretty cool, i always loose the ticket stubs so this would be perfect. But is it cost effective? paper is always a cheaper alternative, but then again this might be reuseable.

Pimalai Resort

Came across this website for a resort called Pimalai in the island of Koh Lanta Yai, Thailand. Its a short plane ride from Phuket, an exclusive resort for those that want to get away from throngs of tourists making your beach dirty hehehe. Look at the sight of that white sandy beach!

Check out their website for more pics and to make reservations.
