Vegetarians Have Better...?

The recently banned PETA advertising that was supposed to be on during the Superbowl, apparently too raunchy for television (and i agree hehehe).

2010 Caddilac SRX

Loved the baby Escalade! which is essentialy what it is. Although for me it has a little bit of the Toyota RX/Harrier design cues, including the headdlights-sloping roofline-and almost identical backside.

Still, that is one good looking car! even the interior is nice, and thats always been the Achilles heel of many American cars. The dashboard sorta reminds me of of the Mercedes E and S class cars, though that central console kicsk ass. This car is the right size for Indonesian roads, i can totally see it zipping along Kemang, the Escalade is just too big for our tiny and bumpy roads.

Take a look at this video, thats cool!

Zinedine Gourcuff

Look at the Yoan Gourcuff's goal for Bordeaux at PSG during the weekend, that was an amazing bit of skill and trickery by the frenchman. Despite his apparent promise and young age, Milan decided to loan him out and brought in David Beckham (also on loan) to fill in his place.

I guess if the objective is to raise money from shirt sales the Beckham route is the way to go, but if you really wanted to improve the team's performance (and judging by their 2-2 draw with Roma on the weekend, the need) why didn't they recall the man the media hails as the new Zidane?

Then again, Milan has Kaka-Ronaldinho-Seedorf-Pirlo-etc in their midfield, maybe they didn't think another creative midfielder was needed, but look at where they are now. Interesting to watch this, wonder if Gourcuff will eventually leave for greener and bigger pastures. Arsenal could certainly use a creative midfielder, and Arsene Wenger could certainly get the best out of him.

Retro BSG Posters

Saw these at the Hero Complex website and just couldn't resist spreading the good word, the coolest posters i've seen in a while courtesy of Quantum Mechanix, on sale through their website btw (click on the link).

My love for the new Battlestar Galactica is only kept in check by the lack of DVD supply in Indonesia (only season 1&2 is available here, Grrrrr), so i have to somehow keep up through the internet which is not the most ideal situation. It is certainly for me the best and most complex science fiction show on television ever, and just because it's trapped within the confines of sci-fi doesn't mean that it wont hold up against giants like The Sopranos and The West Wing (both shows i also love).

So many things could have gone wrong when the decided to remake the show, we could have got something like Stargate or Star Trek hehehe, but thankfully the gods of television decided that once in a while there will be good shows that challenges its viewer on a regular basis.

Enough hyperbole, go pick it up if you haven't allready.

Nice Things For My Bday???

Some cool stuff from Hypebeast that got my attention, being it's so close to my birthday and all? wink wink.

I've always liked the older Nikes, they look so much cooler and understated, Don't like the new spacey techno look. These are pretty cool.

Love this cardigan/sweater, it goes higher than regular cardigans so it makes it unusual but in a good way. Where the hell can i find these???

Love the black and orange Pumas, though the white and green one is cool too.

Yoga Flame!

The poster and trailer for the new Street Fighter flick is out on the web, and it looks very underwhelming. I dont know, was not a big fan of the game but loved the colourfull characters, thought maybe a decent story could be cobbled together somehow. And anything is better than the Jean Claude Van Damme '98 movie right??? ummm.....

Vietopia

Had dinner a couple of nights ago at a vietnamese restaurant called Vietopia, which turned out to be a nice little hidden surprise. It's a Senopati street opposite the French restaurant Emily, and quite small actually probably not more than 25-30 people max.

The design of the place was nice, modernish, but the food was average i thought.

The obvious signature Vietnamese dish is the chicken broth noodle soup, which was ok. Its diced beef and sandwhich was also good, but not great. Cali Deli at FX does better sandwiches for my taste, and highly reccomended as well.

What Holiday?

I was quite surprised to see President SBY standing up against the slackness of state owned oil company Pertamina, in their distribution of gasoline which caused much chaos as gas station started running out of fuel.

You know what the problem with monopoly is? you get lazy, and Pertamina has been guilty of it for many years. Loved the quote pulled from SBY's speech (highlighted in black).

President Disappointed With Pertamina
Monday, 05 January, 2009 | 14:53 WIB

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has said he is disappointed with the delay in fuel distribution by PT Pertamina that has made petrol scarce in many regions.

“I am not happy with this,” said the President in his speech at the opening of 2009 share trading at the Indonesian Stock Exchange in Jakarta, on Monday (5/1).

The President would not accept Pertamina's reason that the delay was because of the long holiday.

“There are no holidays as regards serving the people and the state never sleeps,” he said firmly.

According to the President, Pertamina should have anticipated the situation and be prepared for whatever might happen.

New Gatorade Design

Love the new Gatorade design for their electrolite drinks, it freshens up their image without straying too far from the iconic look of the original. The "G" symbol is what they're throwing at people now, simple and fresh with the signature bolt added to it. Check out their new add below, which was narrated by Lil Wayne too.
