As much as i love my Blackberry Bold, the only thing it lacks is third party customization which is seriously held back by lack of space. Some pictures on the web showing customized Bolds have been largely dissapointing to me, its close keypad makes it impossible for full colouring which means you can only change the leather back case.
The new Curve (some people know as Javelin) and Storm on the other hand has no such problem, Colorware.com can beautifully customize one to your specification and they do a great job too.
If i were to get a Curve, white would be kinda cool.
I'd go wild on the Storm and paint it yellow or blue, something eye catching.

Es Campur
Lazy afternoons are best enjoyed with a nice cup of tea and some sweet treats, so i went to TeSate at Plaza Senayan and ordered Jasmine tea to accompany my bowl of es campur. They make really good Indonesian dessert at the place, highly recommended, we were all admiring the design of the bowl for hours hahaha.

Nokia E75
The new and not yet released Nokia E75, the successor to the Communicator line of phones that are very popular in Indonesia (even i had one at some point). It sports a sliding keyboard which reminds of i think the HTC or maybe Microsoft phones, hmmmmmm.

Here's the specs:
"The Nokia E75 weighs 139 grams and, when closed, it measures 111.8 x 50.8 x 14.4 mm which is pretty decent for a QWERTY slider. The phone runs on Symbian series 60 OS and has a 2.4 inch display with 240 x 320 pixels. Other features include * A-GPS * Wi-Fi * A 3.2 MP camera with flash * A 3.5mm headset jack * MicroSD card support * And a 1050 mAh battery Nokia will be releasing the phone at MWC 2009, as if there is anything what we dont know about the E75 yet." - Newlaunches.comIts not a bad looking phone actually, though i still think the Symbian OS is a bit slow compared to Blackberrys. In terms of usability its second to none, hands down Symbian beats everything out there, they thought of everything that you wanted to do with your phone and its there. Blackberry users will know what i'm talking about, even a simple act like adding people you want to send an email to is difficult at times. I like to think of Nokia as ergonomic hehehe easy to use and customized to your specification.

Perfect Wakeup
Strawberries at Puncak
We went to Puncak for the weekend for one of my uncle's 75th birthday (amazing achievement for an amazing man, super cool guy), stayed at a nice villa around the Cipayung area. The day we went back to Jakarta we stopped by at a friend's place, and we were promptly offered some yoghurt and strawberries! (so Puncak).
They were decent actually, most of the strawberries found in Puncak are usually quite sour but these were very sweet.
Go Slumdog!
My pick for best picture (crossing my fingers)

This Is Just Getting Weirder
A clip of Joaquin Pheonix's recent appearance on David Letterman to promote his latest movie "Two Lovers".
As if his appearance is not weird enough, his glib response to Dave trying to coax answers out of him. He looks out of it, like he's high or something.

Brasas
Celebrated my cousin Nanda's birthday last night, we went out to see Slumdog Millionaire (exclusively at Blitz! hehehe) and had dinner at Brasas.
I've covered it before in one of my previous postings, but i just can't get enough of the place and i think it holds up against other steakhouses in Jakarta because of its simplicity.
The beef is not marinated like the usual steak joints, they're served up with a smattering of salt and pepper, but the quality of the beef is so good that the fat content melts and provide a lovely taste on its own. It's served up with some Argentinian sauces and mash potatoes.
The Rib Eye is one of their specialty (look at the size of that beef).
I ordered the Short Ribs, and yes it was good!
Check out Brasas at Pacific Place!

Heartbreaking
"He’s always been an aggressive stylist as a director, but this proves that all he really needs to destroy an audience is a camera, some actors, and the right words." - HitflixI did not expect a movie like this after watching Darren Aronofky's past movies like Requiem For A Dream and The Fountain, i mean, the guy is renowned for a distinctive filmmaking style. The Wrestler is a stripped down venture, a minimalistic undertaking that concentrated even more on the main character Randy "The Ram" (played by Mickey Rourke) without any hint of CG or trademark flashes.
And I couldn't be more imressed. Go see it, you'll know what i mean. Mickey's performance was just heart breaking, and yes i see the parallels between the movie and his real life, that added layer breaks my heart even more. The scene where he's serving customers at a deli, signing autographs for a few bucks, there's so many wonderful scenes to mention.
Marissa Tomei also gave a brave performance, she was naked physically and emotionally for the entire movie, and when she ran after Randy at the end of the movie (you gotta see how it turns out) that was it for me.
And that ending. I love that when someone asked Aronofsky what it meant he shot back, "What do you think it means?", and that is the whole point. Its just perfect.
There's some really good movies this year, i saw Slumdog Millionaire a couple of days ago, thats another strong best picture nominee. Good time to be a movie fan!

Weezymania!
I caught a bit of the Grammys this morning before i went to work, gonna catch the repeat later tonight cause some of the performances looked hot.
Lil Wayne was nominated for 8 awards this time, really surprising since rappers don't usually get that kind of recognition. He's also been everwhere lately apprearing on numerous interviews, notably the exclusive interview with Katie Couric and David Letterman. His publicity engine must be ramping up in anticipation for a Grammy push.
Loved the Letterman Top 10 cameo.
The "Swagger Like Us" performance with T.I, Jay Z and Kanye was amazing! this has been instantly on the internet for everyone to see.
